Theme Help

OK so I’m assuming you have got the theme installed and activated. If you haven’t then here’s the download and installation page.

Once the theme is activated the first thing you need to do is set up the homepage.

Setting up the Homepage

The theme will display all your pages in a scrolling homepage once you have setup the front page and the menu. This is how you do it:

  1. Go to Settings > Reading
  2. Select to display a static front page and save the changes (you don’t need to set the page)
  3. Go to Appearance > Menus
  4. Select the menu you want to use. If you don’t have a menu you will need to create one.
  5. Check Main box in the Menu Settings and save the menu

If you go to your site you should now see all the pages in the main menu displayed on the homepage.

Theme Options

The options for the theme are in the Theme Settings and the Customizer. Both are found in the Appearance menu.

Theme Settings

The theme settings contain all the options for the contact form, analytics and instructions on how to use the text toggles.

Customizer

The Customizer contains most of the layout options: background images, homepage, header, colours, blog layout and standard wordpress features.

If you are logged in when looking at your site you should see the Customizer link in the admin bar at the top of the page.

If you can’t find what you want in the Theme Settings or Customizer then get in touch and I see what I can do.

Blog Posts

Blog posts don’t display well on the homepage of a onepage site. But you can easily link to your blog posts using this method:

  1. Create a blog page (where your blog posts will display)
  2. Go to the reading settings and choose the blog page from the appropriate drop down.
  3. Update the settings
  4. Create a new page and add a link your existing blog page (if you use an H4 you get a nice button).
  5. Publish the new page
  6. Go to Appearance > Menus
  7. Add the new page to your main menu and save
  8. Check your site and you can scroll to the new page and from there link to your blog.

Reset Theme

If it all goes a bit haywire you can reset everything to removes all theme mods and delete existing Menus. To reset the theme go to the theme settings.
